Philadelphia Wedding Florist: Floral Milk Bath

What comes to mind when you hear “milk bath?” When Kylene of Leave It To Me Photography asks if I want to participate in one of her crazy ideas, I jump at the chance. As most of you know, I just had my first child a few months ago. When Kylene said that she wanted to do a milk bath photo shoot, my first thought went to “I have lots of breastmilk, but why would she want it.” You see, I give my son milk baths. I guess that I have been in a bubble lately. Haha.

Once I talked to her, I realized that she wanted to put a model in a milk bath with flowers. No breastmilk needed. ūüôā

I had such a great time stylizing this photo shoot with vintage inspired lavender and white flowers such as garden roses and delphinium. Isn’t this romantic?!

I absolutely love the vintage feel of this shoot. The lovely lace dress looked so elegant with the soft roses, delphinium and kiwi vines floating in milky water. Kait’s beauty was accentuated by the gorgeous makeup applied by Ruthie’s Eyes.

Makes me want to take a milk bath too! How about you?

It is always an adventure with Kylene. Can’t wait for our next one!

Philadelphia Wedding Florist: Vintage Inspired Styled Shoot

I feel like I have known Kylene Cleaver of Leave It To Me Photography all my life.¬† We met at a mutual friend’s wedding a few years ago.¬† She was the photographer, and I was a bridesmaid.¬† Side note… did you know that I have been a bridesmaid 11 times?!

This photo shoot is the first time that Kylene and I had a chance to work together as wedding professionals.  I have been so lucky to meet and work with such fabulous colleagues, especially Kylene.

Well,¬†enough of my sappiness.¬† I am so happy to share these images from Leave It To Me Photography’s editorial shoot.¬† Kylene¬†found this gorgeous crushed velvet gown at a vintage store.¬† How stunning is Molly in this vintage gown?!¬† She has such a classic look.

Kylene asked me to create a floral headpiece that would work with the gown and the gold shoulder chain.  So, I decided to mimic the design of the gold chain for the floral crown.  I adore the blush ranunculus and waxflowers that finish this look.  I had so much fun creating this flower hairpiece.

Have you considered wearing flowers in your hair for your wedding?  There are so many options from a floral crown to a floral barrette or floral comb.  Flower headpieces can add a special touch to your overall bridal look.

Doesn’t this just make you want to squeal with delight?!¬† I love vintage inspiration, especially for weddings.¬† What are your thoughts about vintage weddings?¬† I would love to hear what you think.

New Jersey Wedding Florist: Impromptu Photo Shoot with Laura in NYC

Recently, my husband and I visited his sister and her fiancé in New York City.  With all of the gorgeous flowers for sale on the sidewalks, I just had to buy some and make a bouquet.

We stopped at The Trailer Park Lounge for drinks and food.  What better place to create the bouquet?!  People probably thought that I was crazy.  I love the vibrant colors of the ranunculus, mums, and freesia.  I am so happy that Laura agreed to model for me.  We had a great time finding random places in NYC to take pictures.  Plus, Scott is a great assistant, especially when he demonstrates how to pose!  LOL  Unfortunately, he will not allow me to pot the pictures of him.

Bucks County Wedding Florist: Floral Stylized Photo Shoot with Melissa & Katie

Spring is FINALLY here!  With that said, I was inspired by the Kentucky Derby for this floral stylized photo shoot.  I wanted to design and create floral hats and jewelry that could be worn at a horse race or race party.

Tradition says that wearing hats brings good luck to the races.¬† Why not wear a FABULOUS hat!¬† Shouldn’t it bring even more luck?!

I had so much fun making these floral fascinators and jewelry!¬† Melissa and Katie were great models and able to capture the essence of the theme!¬† The pictures were taken at the beautiful gardens at Byers’ Choice Ltd.¬†and downtown Doylestown.

If you’re not attending one of the Triple Crown races, there are a bunch of local horse races including Winterthur Point-to-Point and the Devon Horse Show & Country Fair.

These floral fascinators are reminiscent of the styles of hats worn in England.  Floral jewelry is a great option to accessorize your favorite dress.

Delaware Wedding Florist: Floral Stylized Photo Shoot with Meghan

I was beyond excited when Meghan volunteered to wear her wedding dress for a floral stylized photo shoot. She was originally one of my gorgeous brides!  Her wedding was full of purple and bling.  And I brought the sparkle!

I knew the perfect location for this shoot… the swinging bridge in Brandywine Park! And I automatically wanted to go with a formal black, white, and red color palette. I’ve been dreaming about creating a luscious¬†duchess rose bridal bouquet. This was the perfect opportunity. Who says dreams don’t always come true?!

Duchess Rose (13)

I went with red roses to had that dramatic flare.  The duchess rose is constructed out of the petals of approximately two dozen roses. There is nothing like it. I think that it adds a powerful feeling to any wedding. To add drama, I created a ruffle effect with black ribbon and trailed the black ribbon from the handle of the bouquet.  Long trailing ribbons are on trend for this wedding season.

Can you see yourself with a duchess rose bridal bouquet and your bridesmaids with round bouquets with red roses?! Can we say gorgeousness?! It’s definitely an impact statement.

What do you think about the style of this shoot?  What are you inspired by?  Do you have any suggestions for future floral stylized photo shoots?  I would love to hear from you!

I hope that these pictures inspire you for your wedding day.  Contact me today to schedule your own bridal consultation.
