Mainline Wedding Florist: Flower Crown Workshop

In honor of Mother’s Day this past Sunday, I co-hosted a Mother/Daughter Flower Crown Workshop with Kylene Cleaver of Leave It To Me Photography at the Bizzy Mamas’ studio space, The Hive, in Ardmore, Pennsylvania. Do you like to play with flowers? It’s my favorite thing to do! Peonies, roses, mums, ranunculus, oh my gorgeousness!!!

I hope that everyone had a great time celebrating all of the moms in their lives. I spent my weekend with my family including my grandmothers and mother. This was my first year celebrating Mother’s Day as a mom myself. It was a very special one for me.

I really also enjoyed spending time with all of these ladies at our floral crown workshop while celebrating their mother/daughter relationships. It doesn’t matter what age you are, flower crowns are fun for everyone!

After a demonstration on how to create a flower crown, the mothers and daughters began to create their own masterpieces with a little help from me. Then they got a chance to model their creations in a mini photo shoot with Kylene of Leave It To Me Photography. So much fun!

I love getting the chance to share my knowledge about designing flowers. What’s better than a workshop?! I am excited about the future of Floral Designs by Jessi. As my business keeps growing, we will be adding more workshops while still focusing on weddings and events. If you have any suggestions on workshops that you would be interested in attending, please leave me a reply. In the meantime, stay tuned for future workshop dates.

I think that everyone did a great job creating gorgeous floral crowns and showcasing their modeling skills for Kylene of Leave It To Me Photography. I love how each crown is unique and beautiful. I believe that wearing a big pretty flower crown makes every girl feel like a princess.

Happy Mother’s Day! I especially want to wish my partner in crime, Kylene, a happy Mother’s Day. She is an awesome mom!

Maryland Wedding Florist: Zhuolun & Weibiao

An elegant barn wedding, who would have thought?!  Zhuolun and Weibiao were the sweetest couple.  The rustic Spring Hill Manor was the perfect backdrop for their Maryland wedding.  Dear Abigail Photography did a great job capturing the beauty of this shabby chic country wedding.

I love all of the DIY wedding projects that they did with help from their family and friends including a decadent dessert bar.  Don’t those macaroons look delicious?!

When I met with Zhuolun, she told me that she wanted a unique bridal bouquet that no other bride has carried before.  As a floral designer, this was music to my ears!  We decided on a square European inspired bouquet design with purple ombre flowers including tulips, orchids, ranunculus, hydrangea, and hyacinth. For a touch of whimsy, I added trailing greens and flowers from the bottom of the wedding bouquet.

Most brides only wear one wedding dress, but Zhuolun wore three!  Her first gown for the ceremony was by Pronovias from Jennifer’s Bridal dress shop.  I loved that her reception dresses were shades of purple!

Delaware Wedding Florist: Kristin at Family Home

Kristin had the brilliant idea to have a photo shoot on the day that she had her trial run for hair and make-up. Why hasn’t anyone thought to do this before?!  It’s another excuse to get all dolled up and rock your bridal gown on a day other than your wedding day.  Sweet!

She included her mother and maid of honor.  They all dressed up in their gorgeous dresses to pose for a few pictures at the mother of the bride’s home.  They told me that they took their prom pictures in the same place!

Kristin was stunning in her bridal gown from Irini’s Originals.  Nicole Ferrara of Ferrara Photography is the talented person who captured this special moment.  The hand-tied bouquets consisted of roses, tulips, carnations, dusty miller, and evergreens.  I love these rustic winter bouquets!

Thank you for allowing me to be a part of this fun photo shoot.  I wanted to congratulate Kristin on her wedding.  She was a beautiful bride!

Delaware Wedding Florist: Snowy Day Bouquet & Boutonniere

It is cold, wet, and miserable outside today. But compared to all of the snow that we got last year, this winter has not been that bad. I was looking through some pictures from last winter and came across these. I was inspired by the snowy weather to create an untypical winter bouquet and boutonniere. I love the colors and textures.

What would you like in a winter bouquet? Does all white speak to you? Or red and green?
